A bronx Tale social dynamics
In the movie a Bronx Tale it is obvious that C is brought up in a town with mostly Italians. That right there is one social dynamic, because out of all the places in NY that these Italians could have lived they chose to stick together, and it is like that for a lot of races and cultures.I guess it is more acceptable to live with your own, cause that is what facts show us. The Irish would live in Irish neighborhoods, same with blacks and latinos living in their own neighborhoods. The blacks in this movie are just very degraded. Macro-dynamics would tell us that most Italians that came fresh off the boat had a loooot of pride for their nationality and race, we can assume, that C and all his friends have been braught up with these racist thoughts. Micro-dynamics would be a little more effective to come up with a conclusion of why Italian families have decided to live in a basically strict italian neighborhood, if and why they hate blacks, and maybe something to do with sunnies mofia. It is obviouse sunny is a mob boss, and for a survey for sociological purpouses it would be interesting to see how the mafia effects the community, and who is involved in small or large ways. I dont know as socialogist in training that is how i would get my answers, but alot less blunt then vhen khatash if thats how you spell his name.

Actually sociologists have looked at how the mob, gangs, and 'corrupt' political machines are able to maintain support and loyalty of local communities in-spite of their illegal activities that most outsiders consider outrages. It does have to do with fear and intimidation, but it also has to do with addressing a lot of basic needs....like a sense of belonging, immediate protection (think the bike gang that gets kicked out of the neighborhood immediately), and common cultural sensibilities. So you and Venkatesh would not be wrong to take a look at such things.
